文藝復興時期火砲的價格

譯自Thomas Arnold, The Renaissance at War, p.52。

雖然貴族個人可能擁有一兩門小號的火砲，文藝復興時期的戰爭是道地的君王們的運動，至少也要公爵才玩得起。搜羅與保養大尺寸的火砲來攻城掠地或部署要塞需要的是往深不見底的錢坑砸錢的能力。通常砲越大越貴。盧賽利(Ruscelli)的《摩登軍訓》(Precepts for a Modern Army)一書中包含了對於火砲價格的確切討論。(下表的數據單位已換算成時代最接近的貨幣達卡ducat)
